A Disciplined, One-Vehicle-at-a-Time Approach
Loudoun Mobile Autopflege is a local, veteran-founded detailing business serving Loudoun County, Virginia. We work on one vehicle at a time, and the owner is directly involved in every correction.
Our objective is not to remove the greatest possible amount of clear coat. It is to achieve the best responsible improvement while preserving the finish for the years ahead.
Each vehicle is carefully washed and decontaminated before the paint is inspected under focused lighting. We perform a test section to determine the least aggressive combination of pad, polish and technique capable of producing the desired improvement. The vehicle is then corrected one section at a time and inspected for consistent clarity and refinement.
For vehicles receiving long-term protection, paint correction also creates the properly prepared foundation a ceramic coating requires.
What Can Paint Correction Improve?
• Swirl marks caused by improper washing and drying
• Light scratches within the clear coat
• Automated car-wash damage
• Water-spot staining and light mineral etching
• Oxidation, haze and diminished gloss
• Fine sanding or polishing marks from previous repairs
• Paint-transfer marks and isolated surface defects
• Uneven reflection, clarity and color depth
Paint correction does not repair rock chips, missing paint, dents or scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat. Some deeper defects may be safely reduced rather than completely removed. We will explain those limitations before beginning the work.
Paint Correction Options
One-Step Paint Correction — Starting at $695
Ideal for vehicles with light to moderate swirl marks, wash damage, minor oxidation and reduced gloss. A carefully selected polishing stage creates a substantial visual improvement while preserving as much healthy clear coat as possible.
Two-Step Paint Correction — Starting at $995
Designed for more pronounced swirl marks, heavier wash damage, oxidation, haze and deeper clear-coat defects. A controlled compounding stage addresses heavier imperfections before a separate finishing polish restores clarity, gloss and sharp reflection.
Spot Paint Correction — Starting at $225 per area
Intended for isolated paint transfer, scuffs, oxidation, or other localized surface defects. Each area is inspected before work begins to determine whether polishing can produce a responsible improvement. Spot correction is not body repair and cannot replace missing paint or repair damage that has penetrated through the clear coat.
Final pricing is based on vehicle size, paint condition, contamination, previous repairs and the level of correction requested.

One-step paint correction uses a single machine-polishing stage to improve gloss, clarity and color depth while reducing light to moderate swirl marks, wash damage and surface marring. Two-step correction begins with a controlled compounding stage for heavier defects, followed by a separate finishing polish that refines the paint and restores a clearer, sharper reflection. We assess the vehicle’s actual condition before recommending either service.
-
No. Paint correction can remove or significantly reduce swirl marks, light scratches and other defects contained within the clear coat. Scratches that penetrate through the clear coat or color layer may require touch-up paint or body-shop repair. Our priority is achieving the best responsible improvement without removing an unsafe amount of clear coat simply to pursue one deeper defect.
-
The defects safely removed through paint correction are permanently removed—they are not temporarily hidden with wax, glaze or fillers. However, paint correction cannot prevent new swirl marks or scratches. Improper washing, abrasive drying, automatic car washes and environmental exposure can damage the finish again. Careful maintenance and appropriate paint protection help preserve the corrected appearance.
-
No. Ceramic coating protects the paint but does not remove scratches, swirl marks, oxidation or water-spot etching. Although a coating may slightly reduce the visibility of extremely fine imperfections, it should never be treated as a substitute for paint correction. Applying a coating over damaged paint can preserve those defects beneath the coating, which is why we inspect and properly prepare the finish first.
-
The right service depends on the severity of the defects, the condition and thickness of the clear coat, previous paintwork and the result you want to achieve. A one-step correction is generally appropriate for lighter wash damage and overall gloss enhancement. A two-step correction is better suited to heavier swirling, haze, oxidation and more pronounced clear-coat defects. We use focused inspection lighting and a test section to determine the least aggressive process capable of producing the desired improvement.

Yes. New does not always mean defect-free. A newly delivered vehicle may have swirl marks, dealership polishing haze, transportation damage, water spots or scratches introduced during washing and preparation. We inspect the paint itself rather than assuming it is flawless based on the vehicle’s age. When necessary, light correction creates a cleaner foundation before ceramic coating or other long-term protection is applied.

Proper maintenance is essential. We recommend careful hand washing with clean wash media, safe drying techniques and avoiding automatic brush car washes. A quality sealant or ceramic coating can add chemical resistance, make routine cleaning easier and help reduce the risk of future wash-induced damage. Loudoun Mobile Autopflege can recommend the appropriate protection based on how the vehicle is stored, driven and maintained.
